Anne Malone
Sacred Sound & Ceremony Teacher Trainer, Sound Bath TeacherAn Irish musician turned yogini, Anne moves between two worlds with rare ease – bringing the discipline of a recording artist to the devotion of a long–time yoga practitioner. Her work has been celebrated by Shiva Rea as "incredible soundscapes for the yoga of life," and she has been quietly shaping how sound is taught and held in UK yoga for over a decade.
A pioneering voice in sound and ceremony
Approach
Anne teaches sound as a living practice, which is gentle, devotional and beautifully held. She invites her students into a space that feels both playful and sacred, where craft and ceremony sit side by side. There is nothing performative in her teaching, and she leads with a charming authority and a generosity that gives every student permission to find the heart in their own voice.
Her courses are equal parts technical and transformative. Students leave with the practical fluency to hold their own sound bath or ceremony, as well as with something rarer: the desire to teach from their authentic self
Anne is an extraordinary sound explorer and healer. Her musical journeys on the Hang are incredible soundscapes for the yoga of life Shiva Rea
Early years
Anne's path began with music. From the traditional sounds of her native Dublin, she travelled outwards to the rhythms of Latin America, the eclectic sound worlds of the USA, and the rich folk traditions of Europe – gathering an instinctive, multilingual fluency in sound. As a recording artist she earned an NME Award nomination and an iTunes Top 10 placing; the soundscapes she now offers in ceremony are a continuation of that same internal world.
Yoga and meditation entered her life in parallel and slowly drew her musicianship inward. Over years of dedicated practice, devotion and physical awareness deepened, and the bridge between her musicality and her yoga became impossible to separate.
Training & influences
Anne's teachers have been her great fortune. Years of musical journeying with Shiva Rea taught her that sound and movement are one breath, that a singing bowl can hold a posture, and a mantra can open a hip. From Chris James she learned that the human voice is itself a sacred instrument, and that the smallest hum, sung honestly, can shift the energy of a room.
And from her years of practicing Bhakti Yoga with her beloved teacher, Prem Rawat, and having the good fortune to learn from Annie Spencer from Hart Lodge, Ceremonial Path – Anne has sat in circle, in song, in silence – and came to understand that holding space is the deepest teaching of all. What she offers now is not a method but the distillation of all of this: a way of being with sound that is at once ancient and entirely one's own.
Anne's Hang playing seems to come from another, more beautiful universe and beckons us to 'come along, come along… Jai Uttal

What Anne Malone's students say
"Anne is an extraordinary sound explorer and healer. Her musical journeys on the Hang are incredible soundscapes for the yoga of life."
Shiva Rea"Anne is so giving and open and talented. She has a very practical approach to training, and we were thrown in the deep end within a few hours on day one – nerve–wracking but so good. The collective energy and willingness in the room was amazing, and her 'can do' attitude rubbed off on all of us. Anne teaches from the heart and she is so inspirational. There's so much more to this course than the practical's of learning the instruments – holding space, ceremony, and not being afraid to show our true personalities."
Pam S"Anne crafted a welcoming, authentic experience that facilitated our learning in the best way possible. It was rich, full and playful, beautifully held, and full of useful content."
Sacred Sound & Ceremony Student"Anne's music is sublime, played on an assortment of instruments, and Anne's stunning voice transports the room to a haven of tranquility. Sound actually becomes physical when Anne places a singing bowl on the body, its vibrations coursing through every cell."
Michael Reece"Healing, soothing, purifying and richly evocative – I felt cleansed and cradled, held and heart–opened by the journey."
SH"This was utterly brilliant. Anne is the real deal."
